Day Three of THE internship....finito :)

The days are clicking by so fast...I can't believe I've been an actual intern of Jessica Shae for three whole days now....craziness!!!
This morning I woke up and rewrote the blog post from last night because this laptop obviously decides to hate me from time to time :P Cereal was for breakfast again but this time I went out on a childhood memory limb and ate Fruity Pebbles....nothing smells so wonderful as a fresh bowl of that stuff!!
The morning was spent perfecting our about me page, organizing the blog design and getting our background and header on!! Whoo hoo!! I really adore my colors right now. My header is actually still in process because tomorrow Jessica is going to take pictures of each of us to use for our business and blog design. I'm probably going to have my header made up of just or mostly pictures.
We worked and worked inside the whole morning because we were SNOWED IN!! Yesterday the weather was loverly but today....Texas gave us a surprise again. :P
We endured it rather well I think and took breaks from time to time to stretch, walk around, look at Jessica's adorable dog Molly and drink hot chocolate. :D

We had lunch around one o'clock. One word to sum it up would be "leftovers." :D There was hot dogs, one slice of pizza, beef stew, half  of Mr.Garner's gargantuan chicken fried steak from Texas Road House, nachos, and more. It was a very nice mish mash buffet. :)

Then about 3:00 we noticed that the roads were toootally clear and so Jessica took us somewhere fun-fun to rest our tired and taxed little minds. :) So we went.....
Bowling!

Everybody was probably wondering what we were all doing there with our big cameras just nonchalantly taking pictures and videos of each other. :)

After that we went and ate supper at Corner Bakery and had delicious soup and sandwiches. mmmm :) We pulled out our laptops and worked on pricing lists until it was time to go.
Now we are here in the "upper room" of Jessica's home listening to her family downstairs laugh hysterically as they watch the old Karate Kid. (Its very funny to hear and not see this happening. :D)
btw...I feel that I did better getting a blog post in earlier (oh yeeaaah!) :)

Nightie Night everybodeee!

Goodnight Day Two of THE Internship :)

Day numbero two has come and gone. Oh what a full day it was! The day began as usual...getting up about 7:30, getting ready, eating breakfast. This morning was cereal for me in the way of Special K Cinnamon Pecan....yummy goodness. :)
Carissa and Hannah arrived and class was in session. Jessica gave us a big, long, beneficial talk on marketing and the purpose of blogging and what not. Telling us to be personable, entertaining, real, and not to ramble. (Hmmm, that last one kinda hits home. ;D) Then we began treading the waters of About Me pages. Its very hard, we all observed, to write about one's self. I got a rough draft that I'm happy with so far. :)

Around noon we headed out and got a new ride (rental car) for the week. Its little, white, and perfect for us. It took us right to Panda Express for lunch so nice and politely. :D Lunch was quite good and the conversation (as always) was full of brilliant tips and facts from The Dear Jessica-Teacher. ;) We got an ear full of reliable cameras, lenses, flashes, and what not to consider owning or renting which was very thought provoking.

Afterwards we went to Work Central (Starbucks). Who knew, besides wireless Internet, they had a place to actually plug in your laptop?!?! Yeeeaaaahhhh....soooo....I didn't exactly know that even though its kinda obvious to me now that they would have to have that.....
INTY-WAYS....!!! Jessica was able to work on my header and background of my new blog which I am just loving so far. She really is a magician with that computer and a very good designer. It still needs tweaking but its heading in the right direction.

THEN! Oh glorious day....after that we headed to:

It was really fun...had lots of boats and stuff to look at and piers to walk on.

We spent the waiting-for-our-model-to-show-up time very well I think. Taking pictures (and videos), laughing, talking....being girls that have a common passion doing what they love. :D

Jessica of course looked like a total rock star the whole time....who could ask for a greater mentor!?!? :D

Then our darling model showed up...and OH what a DARLING she really turned out to be!!
Folks, meet Amy:

5 minutes after I meet her I realized these things:
1.) She is DROP-DEAD GORGEOUS!
2.) She is totally genuine and super friendly
3.) She has the sweetest laugh and smile
4.) She has naturally incredible hair
5.) She has a wonderful sense of style...I mean, Seriously, have you seen that scarf?!?! Adorable!!!
6.) She is tee-ninesy and so very cute!
7.) She is one of those few people that are greater than sliced bread itself I believe

And Ginormous #8....

She is just a wee bit, how you say, Photogenic!!!

O-my-word....I could've taken pictures of this girl all.day.long!!

Right before my turn with her was finished she wanted to go see the"duckies" which of course I had no objection to :)

Oppoisite to the day before, Jessica did her shoot with our model after we all got a slice of awesomeness with her :)

After we finished, we headed home....stopping only for a basic neccessity such as a movie from Block Buster. ;) We all decided on the 1996 Miramax version of Emma (with Gwyenth Paltrow) because we had all somewhat been thinking about/quoting it throughout the day. :)

Once we got home we had supper which was a bowl of deliciouso beef stew (made by Mrs. and Rachel Garner), sourdough bread, and Jiffy cornbread muffins. Nothin' like a warm comfort meal to end the day. :)

Following dinner we imported, sorted, and edited our pictures then called it quits for the night. We then reclined back, relaxed, and enjoyed the Dramatic, Romantic, British Movie loveliness.

And now I'm here, past midnight, listening to the winds howl and the blizzard probably falling down upon us. I'm breaking all the rules that Jessica taught us this morning about not posting too many pictures and defenitly not rambling. :P So I bid you a good night or a good very early morning. Little eyes....time for sleep!

The First OFFICIAL Day of THE Internship....over :)

Hello there peoples.....I survived. :)
My little brain is ready to burst...in a rather happy sort of way I must add. I do believe it was ready to switch into overload mode a few times. ;D We have learned so very much about blogging, branding, brushes, fonts, headers, and running a small family photo shoot which brought about lectures on aperture, shutter speed, ISO settings, and shooting in manual. It was a LOT to take in but every itty bitty second of it was just the greatest. Earlier in the day Jessica picked out several colors for each of us that she felt really captured our style after we showed her several pictures we loved and words that described us and our photography. Mine turned out to be the very ones I had imagined when we began which blew my mind. :D

The day started wonderfully as we ate the lovely homemade cinnamon rolls made by Jessica herself so skillfully. :) After a few hours of "class" we went to eat lunch at a superly-duperly yummy place: Chipotle! So very good!! We watched the little birds hopping around us as we ate our delicious burritos and of course we rambled on and On and ON about photography (none other of course!) Then we went and watched/assisted Jessica do a shoot of a pregnant mother and her two children, Bailey (7) and Chance (5) which was fun and helpful as well. And oh, Oh, OH! She taught us some GREAT tips about shooting in manual....I am no longer scared of it as I once was so long ago (like....uh....yesterday) ;) Anywho....then we went to Kroger; got some dinner in the form of frozen pizza. Came home....worked our little tails off and then rewarded ourselves with supper. :) By the time we were ready to eat, Jessica had succeded at creating a fanTABulous background for Carissa and Hannah's (fellow interns) blog!! And I can't wait for her to work on Rachel's blog and mine also tomorrow.
The night ended with excessive laughter and chocolate/vanilla ice-cream....*sigh* Girly fun, yes indeed :D
To bed for now...and then tomorrow is a new day! :)

Watch the woman work...its inspirational in and of itself :)

She answered all our many intern questions....

She rocked the photoshoot....

But most importantly....she did it all in style. B-)

Hannah was my super sweet (and SO very gorgeous) partner as we waited for the models to get there for the mini shoot. :)

Her and her older sister Carissa are very funny together and they make an awesome pair. Which is cool because their business (Once Upon a Time Photography) will be together. :D

And of course my Rachel-friend was there being beautiful as always. :)

We girls had quite a hoot of a time being crazy and fun....like girls tend to do of course. ;)

After Jessica took several shots of the family, she gave each of us a minute or two to do a few pictures of them.

The mother was SOOOOO gorgeous and hilarious as well. :) She's seven months along (believe it or not...she looks amazing and  is so very tiny!!) oh and they found out its a little girl. :) It was so cute and funny because while Jessica was taking a picture of her she said,
"I don't know why I'm trying to suck in...this is like the only time where its okay if I don't and I'm not even remembering to embrace it." :)

And her kids are adorable as you can see. :)

Bailey's little snaggle tooth smile, bangs, faint freckles, and BLUE eyes just stold my heart. :)

All in all: quite a fun day indeed. :)

Night One of THE Internship :)

So I'm here. Here in the home of Jessica Shae Garner and her family (which is tooootally great....I am laughing as I write this because they are just tooooo funny!)
I can't believe IT is already here. Tomorrow will start the week of complete photography knowledge overload and wonderfulness. (There really are no words to describe how EXCITED I am...so I just scrambled several together as a weak attempt. :D)
I know it will be TONS of WAY too much fun but also an amazing experience and chance to learn SO VERY MUCH!!! (Thank you Lord for this opportunity!!!) I guess I will let you go for now....I will keep you updated on everything thats going on.

By the way....The Packers won the Super Bowl....the Garners cheered so very passionately and loudly and made me smile. :)

"I've never had a team that I wanted to win that really won during the Super Bowl before. Well....maybe I have, but its been a long time! I'm so glad!" ~Lawson Garner (Jessica's youngest brother) :D

And now we are off to make homemade cinnamon roll dough to let rise over night to bake in the morning for breakfast....(YUUUUMMMM) *Sigh of happiness*

Oh and I miss my la famila already and if that makes me a baby...so be it. :)

Hey Everyone.....

Changes....they happen SO very often don't they?! Well....2010 has turned into 2011, I have gone from doing Algebra 1 to Geometry, two people in my family are PREGNANT!!!!!! PRAISE THE LORD, our Texas weather is determined to throw us for a loop every day by changing every which a way, I'll be sixteen soon and well changes just keep on a'comin'.....and this blog is about to meet the tides of change as well. :) P.S. I feel so secure knowing that I praise the God who alone will NEVER CHANGE!!! :')

Maybe you have and maybe you haven't noticed....the "Photography and Poetry" aspect of this blog has grown a bit one-sided here recently. The poems are coming less frequently and I've been more focused on cultivating the photography.  Not to say I've thrown in the towel!! Oh no no!! I hope, if it be the Lord's will, that I will never stop writing poems. But for now I want to see where God leads with a photography business of my own (possibly) in the future. The way I see it, I would like to dedicate this blog more to just thoughts, recent happenings in my life, and maybe (from time to time) a poem or two. :) Pictures will still find their way here....how can they not?! I love to take pictures! But they will be more just personal pictures....not ones that I take professionally. <-----(:D :D :D :D) Those pictures will be found in another location shortly.

I am scheduled to be an intern from February 7th through the 11th in the Photography Internship of Miss Jessica Shae herself!!! :D (Btw, if you haven't seen her blog....GO THERE NOW!!! It's wonderful!!!) Anywho...I hope to learn SO very much I probably won't hardly be able to stand it and I will be making a blog specifically for my pro. photo-shoots. :) I can't let you see it now though because its still in the construction process. :) Just thought I would let y'all in on what's going on......

Have a great day!

Speaking of today....38 years ago my Daddy dearest came into the world. :) Happy Birthday!!!!! Love you!!!! ♥

Winter has a few perks I suppose :)
